Buenos dìas, my friends Cup'O'Joe in hand, #StokeLevelSoild here at the Bear Valley Lodge, spent the night so I could be on the Mtn bright and early today for the opening of the backside.
Today is the last day for mild weather on the West Coast. All forecast models are aligned on a series of system's arrival beginning tomorrow afternoon in Northern California. We're looking at mild systems rolling through. Temps are expected to climb into the mid- 40ºs across the West slope and the Crest. Saturday brings ridgetop winds ripping at 80-100+ mph, and Sunday won't be much calmer, with SW gusts in the 40-60+ mph range.
That said, expect a mix of precip (rain, snain, and snow) over the next several days. Snow levels are holding fast in the latest model runs, fluctuating between 7k to 8k across the West Slope and Sierra Crest. Expect mixed precip below those elevations throughout the weekend.
